Class of 2021 Celebrates International Women’s Day

On Saturday, March 13th, we hosted our first ever Professional Speaker Day, an exciting opportunity for all three cohorts of students to (virtually) come together to listen and engage with each other and with guest speakers. Before the scheduled presentation by our board member Dr. Eric Hardt, staff set aside dedicated time for our class to commemorate International Women’s Day.

During this “coffee hour,” poems and videos were shared to celebrate the strength and resiliency of women, and students had the opportunity to reflect with the group on what being a woman means to them. One theme amongst those who shared was the commitment to serve as a role model and example for their children about what women can accomplish and the value that women bring. It was a powerful time for building community building across our cohorts, and we are excited to see everyone together again at our next Professional Speaker day in April!

In addition to dedicated time on Saturday’s agenda, program staff sent out Dunkin Donuts e-gift cards to all students to mark the special occasion.

Happy International Women’s Day!
